Bodyscape

[Тэкст даступны толькі на англійскай мове] Bodyscape was created between 2011-2012. The edition showing now in Get it louder festival is an interactive tribute to Nam June Paik’s TV Buddha (1974). Forty years on, TV, video cameras, and many analog devices have already been replaced by computer and digital technology. The only thing that remains is the Buddha. He’s still sitting there, face to a glowing screen and a virtual space generated from the image of himself. I used the graphic program developer Pure Data to create this installation. The computer’s mini video cam captures the real-time image and transfers it to a 3D line-based composition, simulating the features of land and mountain. The audio waves are randomly generated, and affect the visual composition. Visitors may interact with the installation by putting their hands or other things close to the computer’s mini video cam.
