[Тэкст даступны толькі на англійскай мове] This is a total long shot and maybe something beyond the scope of what will be possible as part of LPM. Still, with the band recently reunited, and an event like this being the perfect space to host a performance of this kind, I have to at least try to make this happen.

Kidofdoom were a 4 piece instrumental band that formed in Pretoria in 2006. I worked closely with the band from the start, throwing parties and touring South Africa together under the "Sovereign Academy" banner. In 2007 I started performing live visuals with the band in conjunction with lighting designer Peter Rodda.

Our agenda was always to push boundaries and present audiences with truly transcendental experiences. Outside of traditional use of screens and projection, we also experimented with using projectors as light sources, shinning them through haze into and above the audience to a variety of controllable beam effects.

Starting in 2008, we launched a trilogy of shows called Trajectory. The trilogy was spread across three festivals, Oppikoppi, Earth Dance and Ramfest. The running order of songs and visuals were worked out to loose, sci-fi influenced narratives, with all three trajectories exploring themes of space travel.

Following the third Trajectory, this ambitious approach to combining music and visuals was shelved in favour of a more straight forward concept. This treatment followed on the rest of the shows we played together before the band went on haitus in 2010.

Recently reformed, Kidofdoom and myself have performed a string of dates around the country leading up, most recently, to our return to Oppikoppi. Sections of this performance can be viewed here:

A performance at LPM Cape Town would be the ultimate opportunity to create and perform a fourth chapter in the Trajectory series. While I understand a full live band may be beyond the scope of the event, it would be an incredible platform to share our audio-visual creations with an audience that would be sure to appreciate the band's cinematic soundscapes and interstellar visuals.
